Clogged pores, blackheads and dry skin can make your skin look unhealthy and lackluster. Whether woman, man or teen, these can affect your appearance and confidence.
Clogged pores can be the result of a buildup of dead skin cells, oil or dirt—which could be caused by dry skin or skin that produces extra skin cells. Blackheads, for instance, occur when skin debris — or keratin — mixes with sebum, causing a pore to become clogged. Dry skin—also known as xerosis or xeroderma—can be caused by cold or dry weather, sun damage, harsh soaps and overbathing, as well as insufficient Vitamin D, zinc, iron, niacin and Vitamin A. Allergies and eczema can also lead to dry skin.
